What's the next wave? PATH market @ Vivocity!

What's up M.A.D crew!

First of all, congrats to SNAP for winning the challenge for raising the most funds for the needy pupils! Well done! For the rest of the groups, do not feel disappointed or disheartened because you guys have done equally well too! Although your group may not have raised the most funds, in terms of your teamwork, spirit, hardwork and effort that everyone has put in, in our eyes, all of you are winners! You guys deserve a rewarding applause! *Clap clap clap~~*

So after the M.A.D challenge at your school, what's the next wave then? Yes! We will be going to the PATH market at Vivocity! Although SNAP emerges as the overall winner for the M.A.D challenge, all of you guys will get the chance to go to Vivocity to market your products together as one team! We will not be going in as SNAP, G.O.G or Plantiitory, but you guys will be representing your school instead!

For students who are interested in joining SNAP at Vivocity, please sign up with Mrs Tay and she will let us know which date is preferred to carry out the final challenge at the PATH market.

Are you ready for the next wave?

and the winner has emerged.. SNAP!!

Congrats to...

M.A.D CHALLENGE - 25 MAY 2007!!

*Wats Up Riverside M.A.D Crew*
The long awaited challenge is here!

Hey everyone! Are you ready for the M.A.D challenge? The day has finally arrived! After so much preparation of all your product premiums, it is finally the day when all of you guys have to push your products up the sales ladder! This is the final journey the Riverside M.A.D crew is embarking on so be sure to give it your best shot! The winning team will have the opportunity to go to Vivocity and sell their products to the public as well as have a taste of running a business in the path market.

Before everyone gets all excited, here are some important notes that you should ponder on:
1. Please be responsible for your own stock!
Have your COO in charge to look after the stock, as well as to keep a record of all the sales of the toys. You have to account for any loss or misplacement of the soft toys.

2. Still have lots of balance left? Fret not!
For groups that still have quite a considerable amount of balance left from the cost allocated (Be it $210 or $180) because you have no idea what to buy to doll up your premiums, use the balance left to market and publicize about brand and what you are selling. You may want to consider investing on posters and other decorative materials to do up your booth.

3. Where MakingADifference Matters!

How do you attract your friends and teachers to visit your booth instead of the rest of the teams? This is where you have to make a difference and start thinking of creative, fun or be it crazy ideas to draw people to your booth! You may want to design a costume out of recycled materials to get things started!

and If you can't differentiate between 2 similar products, the golden rule is to sell cheaper.

Heya Riverside M.A.D crew! Are you ready and game enough for the challenge? You have done well and impressed us so much in the previous sessions! Do your best in this final burst!

3 teams
1 heart
1 winner

We are M.A.D - M.A.D enough to MakeADifference!

Proud and accomplished faces of...
* Plantiitory *

* G.O.G *

and
SNAP!!
Well done guys! Thank you so much for all your efforts put into the product prototypes, as well as the willingness to sweat it out with us, dirty your hands (and never complain a single word) with us today. You never know how important your participation and enthusiasm is to us! The M.A.D crew is so proud of you, and we certainly hoped that we have MakeADifference in your lifes!
And last but not least, all the best and good luck in your exams guys! Study hard and rock on! =)
Cheers,
the M.A.D crew =)

28th April 2007 - M.A.D crew in action; the planting began!

With our workers' help, the plots have been cleared smoothly and it is now the groups turn to plant their own plots! Once again, Kenny gave a briefing to the groups before the commercement so that the groups will have a clearer picture of what to do. =)

Mrs Lee and the students together doing the landscaping for the plots. And this is what we call - One Heart!

Watch out boys, here comes the 'Chang-kol' man! Kenny the M.A.D man with the 'Chang-kol'! Let's starting digging!

Oh no! It seems that some dirt has got into Nico's (from G.O.G) eyes! Thank God he has the pretty babes around him to his rescue!

Tada! Girl power! Introducing the 'Chang-kol' girl aka Miss Chilli Padi from G.O.G!

And hereby we proudly present, our M.A.D capsule!

Miss Chitra with her speech to the students. After which, she initiated the M.A.D capsule burial ceremony.

The finished M.A.D clover!

It was a truly fun, inspiring journey that all of us had embarked on today. Coming together and putting the M.A.D clover up was something very significant to everyone of us. And not forgetting our M.A.D heart in the center of the footpath. All of us, the M.A.D crew will remember that on this special day of the Riverside Sec's 20th school anniversary, that very unique capsule containing thoughts from everyone of us has been planted and buried in the M.A.D heart.
It's cool to be M.A.D! Don't you think so?

28th April 2007 - Product Prototype & M.A.D thoughts!

Kenny with his briefing to all the various groups? As for the product prototypes of the groups? Well, it's a mystery! (Just a little glimpse of the products on the table for you guys)

Continue to look out for it! =p

And this is M.A.D thoughts where each individual penned down their true expressions towards this course, the environment, their reflections about global warming and other climate issues. Cool!

G.O.G presenting their M.A.D thoughts..

.. SNAP's turn!

and Plantiitory! Well done guys! A round of applause for everyone!
We have sealed up all our M.A.D thoughts in ziplock bags and they are to be placed in our capsule for burial in our M.A.D heart! The M.A.D crew strongly believes in recycling and saving the Earth, and hence an empty coffee tin is used for our capsule! Each and everyone of us can do our parts in saving the Earth's resources and protecting the environment through little ways like that. Don't you think so? =)

28th April 2007 - M.A.D Clover Preparation!

Wats Up M.A.D crew! =)

This is the initial ground preparation where the existing (and dying) Bougainvilleas under the Phoenix palm tree are removed to make way for the grand appearance of our very own M.A.D clover!

Thankfully we have our worker's assistance to prepare the ground for planting. This has really made the whole planting process much easier and smoother, don't you agree?

One of our workers digging a 50cm deep hole for the M.A.D heart, where our capsule containing personalized messages from each and everyone of you will be buried!

As time elapse, our workers created the outline of the footpath where granite chips will be poured in. More soil from the site has been removed.

Our workers shaping out the outline of one of the plots, shaped in the form of a leaflet of a clover!
